Researched Treatment from a Real Person
Having worked in California, Texas, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania, I have had the privilege of working with clients with a variety of backgrounds and identities. In addition, I was raised in Hong Kong and relate to the unique experiences of having a "third-culture".
My background and training have strongly influenced who I am as a provider. As a clinician and supervisor, I have been described as authentic, empathic, empowering, a little bit nerdy, a little but fun, and unafraid of being real if it seems helpful. I utilize down-to-earth, egalitarian, and research-based methods to progress my clients towards mental health and personal growth. I am particularly experienced with presenting concerns such as trauma, loss, identity concerns, relationship struggles, depression, anxiety, and disordered eating/body image concerns.
I use an integration of attachment theory, structural family therapy, and various cognitive-behavioral interventions. In addition, I consider biological and ecological influences to provide culturally-aware and holistic treatment to my clients. Moreover, I strive to be an ally to clients with marginalized identities including (and not limited to) immigrant, BIPOC, Hispanic/Latinx and LGBTQ+ identities.
I accept Aetna and Highmark BCBS insurance (this is different from Independence or Anthem BCBS). If you are out-of-network, I can provide a superbill to use for reimbursements through your insurance company. Out of pocket/out of network fees are listed below, but let me know if you might need financial assistance. I know insurance and payment issues can be a struggle - I am happy to answer any question I can to support your process.
